This low-noise out also eliminates ground loops, to keep even the highest-gain re-amplification as quiet as possible.Īnd AXE I/O seamlessly integrates with the included AmpliTube 4 Deluxe to select presets and control values via the front input knob, and lets you connect pedals and switches to get the most from your virtual rig without ever taking your hands off your axe.

Plus AXE I/O includes a dedicated Amp Out, so you can process your recording with real guitar amps and stomps without the need for external accessories (and without having to unplug your existing connections!). Its patent-pending Z-Tone™ impedance-adapting circuit interacts with your guitar's pick-ups to give you a massive range of tonal flexibility, you’ve never heard before. I think the foot controller would be more practical.IK Multimedia AXE I/O Premium audio interface with advanced guitar tone shapingĪXE I/O offers an exclusive triple-topology, fully discrete input circuit, with both PURE and JFET input stages, to go from transparent to tube-like with just a single switch. You can configure to switch distortion on when you play the middle C of the piano. The intention of developers was that you could use a MIDI footcontroller, like the FCB1010, but since MIDI is a generic interface you and use any MIDI gear to do that, even a MIDI piano, for example. The MIDI configuration is just the last filed in that Window, and it allows you to select a MIDI device that you will use to control the AT gear, like switching a distortion pedal on or off. The only reason it says Audio MIDI in AT configuration is because they have put it in a single Window, but audio if for configuring how sound will processed, drivers, buffers, etc. Guitar Rig should also be set to run with Asio4All, and setup should be the same. Most of that doesn't seem to have anything to do with MIDI, but that's what they call it.ĮTA: Since I couldn't get Amplitube to work, I had installed the Guitar Rig 5 demo, so now I have both to play around with. That's the top picture in thoman23's post. which brings up the Hardware Settings dialog. Not sure which change made the difference, but thanks.įor the comments on MIDI, the only way to get to the ASIO settings page is through Settings -> Audio MIDI Setup. Run amplitube as Admin on Windows, you may have some other issues if you don't.įollowing mbarsott's advice, I disabled the speakers and ran Amplitube as Administrator, both of which I hadn't tried before, and now I'm getting normal sounds out. Have the real tone cable connected and speakers disabled beffore you start Amplitube. Remember to use ASIO in you Amplitube configuration. If you don't do it you will get an intermitent white noise sound (so you remember to register it)

ASIO4All controls the speakers directly, bypassing the Windows Operating System (that's why ASIO is fast), so it doesn't matter for ASIO if the speakers are disabled on Windows, except that if they are enabled, sometimes ASIO4ALL cannot take control of the speakers. If you want ASIO4All to work propertly you most likely need to disable the speakers (right click the speaker tray icon, select Playback Devices, right click the speakers and select Disable you can always reenable the speakers again using the same process). The red X on the ASIO output usually happens because of this: most of the PCs will have Windows synth running and taking control of your speakers and headphone outputs. MIDI is used to control gear inside Amplitube, so most likely, if you are a beginner, you should forget about it all together. Remember, MIDI has nothing to do with Amplitube sound. Those Asio4all configuration pics look good. I'll try to find Beta 1 and try that instead, in case it's ASIO that's the problem. It gives me a sound initialization error.ĮTA: Got Beta 1 from the ASIO site, but it made no difference. Once I've run Amplitube, and exited, I can't play the Rocksmith Demo any more. So it seems Amplitube is grabbing the audio device, but won't let ASIO use it.

After starting Amplitube, and even if I exit Amplitube, it pops up a message saying the device is being used by another application. When I do this just after booting, they work fine. If I go into Control Panel -> Sound, select my speakers and click Configure, it lets me try to test my speakers. If I click Panel, and look at the ASIO panel, there's a red X next to my audio output. There's no sound coming from the speakers, though.įor output in the Audio MIDI Setup settings, the Left and Right channels both say Not Connected. Strumming the guitar makes the input and output level bars go up, so it seems to be processing the sound. When I look at the Audio MIDI Setup, I can select the Rocksmith cable for input now (not sure what changed). Unfortunately, the problem seems to be Amplitube itself. Thanks for those pictures, that helps narrow down the problem.
